2014 Q7

2014 Audi Q7

Pros: The 2014 Q7 boasts impressive handling for a vehicle of this size and heft; availability of economical-for-the-class diesel engine

Cons: Basic design dates to 2007 and is starting to feel long in the tooth; stiff ride on S Line model; 3rd row is hard to access and not very accommodating for adults

CG Says: It’s looking a bit dated now, but the Q7 still has many virtues. Prime among these are mechanical finesse, terrific all-weather road manners, all the standard luxuries and state-of-the-art tech features buyers expect, and the TDI model, whose near class-leading fuel economy offsets the typically higher cost of diesel fuel versus premium-grade gasoline. Audi design and workmanship are assets too, especially for those who appreciate the differences versus other luxury brands. The main demerits are subpar cargo space and 3rd-row room, and interior trim that doesn’t quite live up to the high standards we’ve come to expect from an Audi.
