2014 Suburban

2014 Chevrolet Suburban

Pros: Suburban’s longer cabin provides exceptional cargo capacity and a slightly better ride than the similar Tahoe

Cons: Fuel economy; extra body length means Suburban is less maneuverable than Tahoe; 2007-vintage design starting to feel a bit dated

CG Says: Though its 2007-vintage basic design is beginning to feel a bit dated–particularly in terms of its 3rd-row seat design–Suburban’s refined drivetrain and surprising-for-its-size maneuverability continue to impress us. As one of the biggest SUVs on the market, Suburban’s extra-large dimensions make it attractive to shoppers who need serious passenger and cargo hauling capacity. It’s let down by a 3rd-row seat that’s uncomfortable to sit on and very difficult to remove if you want to maximize your cargo space. Still, if you need the space and versatility such a large vehicle can provide, Suburban remains an excellent choice. Note that an all-new Suburban is debuting as a 2015 model.
