2017 Spark

Pros: City-friendly minicar dimensions; maneuverability; connectivity/infotainment features

Cons: Limited cargo room

CG Says: For 2017, Chevrolet Spark adds a new model. Spark Activ is an SUV-flavored version of Chevrolet’s smallest subcompact. Spark Activ adds a 0.4 inch raised ride height, roof rails, and unique trim. Spark is a petite 4-door hatchback with seating for four. An Ecotec 1.4-liter 4-cylinder with 98 horsepower is the sole engine, and is available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission. The EPA estimates the Spark will achieve up to 38 mpg in highway driving. Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Side Blind Spot Alert, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot are available features. The redesigned Spark should be a solid competitor in its segment.
