2014 Chrysler 200

Pros: Impressive V6 power supplies confident acceleration; rare-for-the-class convertible model is available in both hardtop and soft-top form; value pricing

Cons: Limited back-seat space, especially in convertibles; subpar trunk space; overall refinement is still a step behind midsize-car class leaders

CG Says: Chrysler’s midsize sedan and convertible see no changes of note for 2014. With its available V6 engine, the Chrysler 200 impresses for its power and fuel economy. The interior presents well for materials quality but not so much for passenger room. The convertible is a decent cruiser that offers buyers the choice of a soft or retractable hard top. While no 4-cylinder models have been made available for us to test, it’s basically the same engine we’ve panned in other Chrysler products as being slow and unrefined. Even though the V6 adds to the cost, we would still recommend springing for it. Pricing is aggressive, making this car an appealing choice for those who want a bit of style but don’t have a ton of money to spend. Note that an all-new Chrysler 200 is slated to go on sale as a 2015 model.
