2014 Genesis

2014 Hyundai Genesis

Pros: Confident acceleration in V6, muscular acceleration in V8 R-Spec model; regal-yet-understated cabin trim; convincing luxury at value prices

Cons: Ride quality and composure is lacking, particularly in R-Spec; mediocre fuel economy; options are limited to just two pricey packages

CG Says: Hyundai’s large sedan sees a few minor updates for the 2014 model year, such as 18-inch wheels on the 3.8 V6 model and a heated steering wheel on the 5.0 R-Spec model. Genesis delivers premium interior furnishings, high-end features, and impressive powertrain performance without the price tag associated with most premium-large cars. Of particular note is the 3.8 model and its V6 engine. That model costs less than a V8-equipped car, but sacrifices little in terms of everyday driving satisfaction.
