CG Says: Land Rover Range Rover gains a new model for 2107. The SVAutobiography Dynamic adds lowered suspension and unique interior and exterior trim to topline SVAutobiography. There are also newly available driver assistance features. Advanced Tow Assist makes maneuvering a trailer easier and Driver Condition Monitor checks for driver fatigue. There is a new control system with a larger 10.2-inch screen. Range Rover is a premium large SUV with seating for five. The base engine is a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that is rated at 340 horsepower. A supercharged 5.0-liter V8 develops 510 hp or 550 hp in SVAutobiography models. A 254-hp 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel is also available. All engines mate to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is standard. Available features include massaging seats, heated/cooled seats, power rear seats, hands-free tailgate, adaptive cruise control, surround-view cameras, parking assist, and power door closing. Available safety features include lane-keep assist and autonomous emergency braking. Few SUVs can come close to matching the Range Rover’s combination of good driving dynamics, luxurious accommodations, superb off-road ability, and country-club curb appeal. None of that comes cheap, however, as this is one of the most expensive SUVs around. Most buyers probably don’t need all the Range Rover has to offer, and as such, will likely find better value elsewhere.
