2017 Lincoln Navigator

Pros: Turbo V6 engine delivers V8-like power; Spacious and comfortable third-row seat folds flat to the floor; impressive towing capacity; lots of standard equipment

Cons: Fuel economy; some controls are placed out of easy reach; tall step-in height means entry and exit can be tricky for smaller occupants

CG Says: The 2017 Lincoln Navigator is essentially unchanged. Navigator is a premium large SUV with truck-like body-on-frame construction. Two wheelbases are offered. The longer length Navigator is badged “L”. Both seat up to eight passengers in three rows of seats, but the L has considerably more cargo room behind the third-row seats. A 380-horsepower turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission is the sole powertrain. Rear-wheel drive is standard and four-wheel drive is available. Available features include heated/cooled front seats, power-folding third-row seats, power-deployable running boards, and blind-spot alert. The Navigator is obviously an expensive vehicle, but it is actually something of a bargain when compared to the rest of its class—and to high-end versions of the Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon.
