2015 Nissan GT-R

Pros: High-tech supercar performance; tenacious all-wheel drive; one-of-a-kind personality

Cons: Stiff ride; can feel clunky and cantankerous in everyday driving; pricing has been creeping upward; traditional manual transmission is not available

CG Says: A higher-horsepower, limited-edition model joins the GT-R lineup for 2015, along with a number of minor updates. The GT-R NISMO has 600 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of torque (compared to 545 and 463, respectively, in other 2015 GT-R models). The NISMO also features enhanced aerodynamics, suspension refinements, and an exclusive optional titanium exhaust system. Other GT-R revisions for 2015 include LED headlights and taillights, a Bose-brand Active Noise Cancellation system, and retuned suspension components. Quirkier than most rivals, the GT-R offers impressive acceleration, a comfortable and well-appointed interior, and decent luggage space. For those who prefer a transmission that doesn’t have a clutch pedal–and can accept one that isn’t particularly well behaved in everyday driving–GT-R is an exotic performance car that still isn’t quite priced like one.
