Per one source, the Comuta-Car was the best-selling U.S.-market electric car after WW II until the Tesla Model S came along in 2012. While that may sound like a noteworthy accomplishment by the car’s maker, Commuter Cars, Inc, of Sebring, Florida, the Comuta-Car never actually sold especially well. It did sell well enough, though just hardly, to be remembered.

He called it the “power toad.” He was a guy I talked cars with at the health club, and he had just purchased a 2003 Nissan Murano, a vehicle he very much appreciated, but he had yet to come to terms with the design. Looking back, the first generation Murano doesn’t look all that controversial, but in the early years of the 21st century, Nissan’s 2-row midsize crossover was turning heads.

While BMW claims it is not limiting M5 Touring sales in the U.S., many dealers tell a different story. Most BMW shops are reporting annual access to just one M5 Touring per model year, though others have claimed to have received up to three.
