While the Maverick Special lacks the TV legacy of Rockford’s legendary Firebird, it is a pretty cool callback to the TV show that launched James Garner’s career, and that makes it awesome to us.

While the 2026 Toyota C-HR isn’t the $25,000 “affordable” EV we were hoping for, we think there’s a lot of value here with the standard amenities, NACS charge port, standard CCS adapter, and AWD. It’s comfortable, quiet, and peppy, and it will make a great get-around, year-round EV for the right person.

There isn’t much not to like about the Lyriq-V, it’s even reasonably priced relative to other maker’s sporty crossover offerings. That said, the V lists for at least $10,000 more than the next most expensive Lyriq trim level, which is a lot of cash if you’re not going to fully enjoy what the V brings to the table. That said, the V will bring more value come trade-in time, which makes the cost of choosing one a little less painful.

While Kia has stated that the Tasman is not planned for the US or Canada, its arrival is noteworthy. Hyundai is widely rumored to be developing a new midsize pickup for North America to either be positioned above or to outright replace the smaller Santa Cruz. Tasman’s platform and engineering could preview elements of that future truck.
