Pros: Improved cabin room, many high-tech features; handsome interior trimmings
Cons: Complicated infotainment controls; lack of economy front-drive model
CG Says: Audi’s subcompact crossover SUV is redesigned for 2019, gaining larger dimensions (most notably a larger rear-seat area, thanks to a three-inch stretch in wheelbase), new styling inside and out, and lots of new technology features. The new Q3 is 3.8 inches longer, 1.5 inches taller, and 1 inch wider than the previous-generation model. All-wheel drive is now standard, and horsepower output from the Q3’s turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine increases from 200 to 228. The previous 6-speed automatic transmission is replaced by an 8-speed auto. Available features include collision warning and mitigation, blind-spot alert, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, topview camera, and park assist. The new 2019 Audi Q3 offers more room, power, and equipment at affordable prices similar to last year’s all-wheel-drive models, making it a strong contender in the competitive premium subcompact crossover segment.
