Pros: Impressive fuel economy with 4-cylinder engine; touchscreen infotainment system; comfortable, upscale interior

CG Says: For 2016, Buick’s large car gets an updated Intellilink infotainment system with dual USB ports and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. Also, 20-inch wheels are optional on Premium all-wheel-drive models. Note that the 2016 model year is the last for the current-generation Buick LaCrosse. A redesigned LaCrosse has been unveiled and is slated to go on sale within the next year as a 2017 model. We consider the 2016 Buick LaCrosse a large car, while GM thinks it competes against premium-midsize entries such as the Lexus ES 350. LaCrosse acquits itself very well in both segments, though maybe not against sportier models like the Chrysler 300 or Acura TLX. Shoppers who are looking at any car in this price class would do well to give LaCrosse a close look.
