Pros: Bold, innovative styling inside and out; competitive pricing compared to European rivals; impressive balance between ride quality and handling agility; refined engines
Cons: Rear-seat space isn’t great for the class; some testers find CUE touchscreen system awkward to use; lack of folding rear seat backs
CG Says: After its redesign for 2014, the Cadillac CTS gets a number of updates for 2015. A revised grille with a new-design Cadillac crest freshens the front-end styling. The OnStar communication system adds 4G LTE Internet connectivity with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, and the CUE touchscreen system gains integrated Text Message Alerts. Also available with the CUE system is a DockSpot magnetic inductive charging system, which enables a phone to be charged by setting it on a mat inside the car instead of plugging it in. The optional Driver Awareness package now includes lane keep assist and lane-change safety alert, and the available Automatic Parking Assist feature now includes perpendicular parking functionality in addition to parallel parking. In terms of dynamics, performance, luxury, and feature availability, the CTS is a strong competitor to more established upper-line models in the premium-midsize segment, with a bold design character that stands apart from its European rivals.
