Pros: Solid feel of body structure; a plethora of available features, some rare for the compact-car class; broad range of personalizing dress-up items; decent fuel economy

Cons: Interior isn’t quite as spacious as some compact-class competitors; middling acceleration from base engine; available automated-manual transmission feels clunky

CG Says: For 2015, the Dodge Dart’s UConnect touchscreen stereo is updated to include additional Android smart phone capabilities, while the CD player becomes a stand-alone option on most models. Also, the 2.4-liter engine is available in Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle (PZEV) specs in the 14 California Air Resources Board (CARB) states. The Dart’s platform is based on one that underpins the Italian-built Alfa-Romeo Giulietta sold in Europe (Alfa is another division of Fiat). Dart is a solid-feeling compact car that is among the more stylish vehicles in its segment. The uplevel Limited model has some options that you don’t often find in this class, such as rear cross-traffic alert and a heated steering wheel. Further, these extras don’t add a tremendous amount to the bottom line. These high-end items and the numerous “personalization” options are the Dart’s greatest strengths, as its passenger/cargo room and driving dynamics are nothing special compared to its rivals.
