CG Says: Hyundai jumps into the subcompact-crossover market for 2018 with an all-new model. The Kona slots below the Hyundai Tucson in both size and price and is one of the smallest vehicles in the class. Two powertrains are offered: SE and SEL models have 147-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while Limited and Ultimate models get a 175-hp turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder mated to a 7-speed automated-manual transmission. The turbo 1.6 is one of the most powerful engines in the class. All Konas offer a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
