Pros: Strong acceleration; Fine handling; Good level of standard equipment
Cons: Rear seat is cramped with difficult entry and exit; Road noise; Limited options
CG Says: The 2015 Infiniti Q40 is a lower-priced alternative to Infiniti’s Q50. The Infiniti G37 was replaced by a new-design Q50 for 2014. After a year off, the G37 returned badged Q40. Q40 is a premium midsize sedan that competes with BMW 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi A4. It is powered by a 328-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 mated to a 7-speed automatic and is available with rear-drive or all-wheel drive. Q40 has a high-level of equipment with standard leather upholstery, heated front seats, keyless access and entry, and bi-xenon headlights. Although outclassed by its Q50 replacement, Q40 is an affordable sport sedan with good handling and performance.
