CG Says: Following its redesign last year, Mercedes-Benz C-Class adds new models for 2016. A C450 AMG 4Matic sedan with a 362-horsepower turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 replaces C400. There is also a new C350e plug-in hybrid that pairs a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gas engine with an electric motor for a total of 275 horsepower. The C-Class coupe takes a year off. A redesigned coupe model based on the new platform will join the C-Class lineup for 2017. With the addition of the entry-level CLA-Class sedan to the Mercedes-Benz lineup, the redesigned C-Class moves a bit upscale in size and prestige. Its strong points include regal cabin appointments and an impressive array of comfort, safety, and technology features. Prices are steep, but the new C-Class sedan is a compelling premium-compact car choice.
