2014 Porsche Boxster
CG Says: After its redesign for the 2013 model year, the 2014 Porsche Boxster gets a new available stereo system and a couple new color choices. This may be the “beginner’s Porsche,” but it’s no less a thoroughbred than the costlier Cayman and 911 models. Though the mid-engine layout compromises passenger and cargo space somewhat, the Boxster is everyday practical, and its road manners and mechanical sophistication will delight even the most discriminating enthusiast driver. While most rival sports cars offer superior power and features-per-dollar, they typically don’t match Porsche’s brand cachet and high trade-in values. Be careful when selecting options, though, as checking just a few boxes can send prices quickly skyward.
