CG Says: The 2017 Toyota RAV4 gains standard Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) that includes: pre-collision system with pedestrian detection; automatic high beams; lane-departure warning with steering assist; and adaptive cruise control. There is also a new top-line Platinum model with unique exterior trim, navigation, keyless access and starting, surround-view camera, and heated steering wheel. RAV4’s large-for-the-class dimensions give it great passenger and cargo room, and fuel economy is quite respectable as well. Starting prices seem a bit steep, but they’re somewhat justified by the high levels of equipment and Toyota’s strong brand reputation. Particularly if you’re torn between a compact SUV and a midsize one, the 2017 Toyota RAV4 is well worth a look.
