Pros: Surprisingly generous front seat space and decent 2nd-row room; smooth, linear acceleration, fun and sporty demeanor
Cons: Complicated control layout; voice command system not always cooperative, polarizing design
CG Says: Acura’s 2014 RDX might not lead the premium-compact SUV class in any one area, but this is a vehicle that does just about everything very well. A refined drivetrain, tossable handling, and a roomy, well-appointed cabin are its primary strengths. Weaknesses include mediocre fuel economy, and a control interface that could do with less button clutter. The 2014 RDX more than makes up for these shortcomings by offering lots of comfort, convenience, and safety features at reasonable-for-the-class prices. Value-conscious luxury buyers would do well to put this Acura at the top of their shopping lists.
