2018 Audi A7

CG Says: The 2018 Audi A7 is little changed. Horsepower for the base A7 3.0T supercharged V6 increases from 333 to 340—the same as last year’s A7 3.0T Competition model. The Competition is no longer a separate model, but is now a package with unique trim, sport suspension, and a special differential. The A7 is a sleeker, 4-door-hatchback version of Audi’s A6 premium midsize sedan. The A7 line also includes V8-powered performance models: the 450-hp S7, 560-hp RS 7, and 605-hp RS 7 Performance. All-wheel drive is standard and all have an 8-speed automatic transmission—except the S7, which has a 7-speed automated-manual. Available features include blind-spot alert, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and heated/ventilated front seats. The 2018 Audi A7 is visually stunning, inside and out. It’s comfortable to sit in and provides a surprising amount of practicality given its “4-door coupe” body style. Lively and reasonably efficient powertrains further enhance this car’s appeal. Prices seem high, but the sticker price buys a lot of luxury car. Even when well equipped, A7 comes out much less expensive than comparably equipped rivals from BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
