CG Says: For 2016, Hyundai Accent’s base GS and GLS models are both renamed SE. Otherwise, Accent is little changed. Accent offers a fine combination of room, refinement, features, and performance for the money. There is one other caveat, and it’s a big one. This car does not deliver great fuel economy. Over the course of short- and long-term test drives, our test Accents had a very difficult time cracking 30 mpg while some larger compacts can break 40 without much difficulty. There’s too much good stuff about this car to make it unworthy of a high place on your shopping list, but the fuel-economy issue is something that should be kept in mind.
