Cons: Nearly useless back seat, complicated control interface; limited cargo room[/vc_column_text][mk_divider style=”padding_space” margin_top=”10″ margin_bottom=”10″][vc_column_text]CG Says: The 2019 Lexus LC has revisions to steering, suspension, and automatic transmission. Apple Car/Play functionality is a new feature. Lexus introduced its flagship high-performance coupe for 2018. The Lexus LC is an exotic grand touring machine that boasts rakish styling and a very luxurious interior; it is both larger and more expensive than the Lexus RC coupe. The LC comes in two forms: the LC 500, with a 471-horsepower 5.0-liter V8, or the LC 500h, which has a hybrid powertrain that combines a 3.5-liter V6 and two electric motors for a total of 354 hp. The V8 is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and the hybrid also has 10 speeds forward, although it involves the combination of a 4-speed automatic and a planetary gear set. All LCs are rear-wheel drive; unlike the RC, all-wheel drive is not available. Lexus claims the LC 500 is capable of accelerating 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 168 mph. Available features include forward-collision and pedestrian detection, radar cruise control, automatic high-beam headlamps, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitor, limited-slip differential, and active rear steering. The head-turning LC is an exciting entry in the premium sport coupe market. Although the prices of these cars can easily exceed $100,000 once options are added, the LC 500 has the power and agile handling to challenge the European exotic coupes, and the LC 500h offers surprisingly invigorating performance from its smooth, efficient (for a luxury exotic) hybrid powertrain.[/vc_column_text][mk_divider style=”padding_space” margin_top=”10″ margin_bottom=”10″][mk_content_box heading=”The Facts”][mk_table el_class=”new-review-specs”]
