2021 Toyota Tundra extended cab

Pros: High level of refinement, particularly on upper-line models; impressive driving dynamics; quality interior materials; effective cabin ergonomics

Cons: 4-wheel drive is an inconvenient part-time system; fuel economy comes up short compared to domestic rivals

CG Says: The 2021 Toyota Tundra adds new Trail Special Edition and Nightshade Edition appearance packages, but is otherwise unchanged. Tundra is a full size pickup available in extended cab (Double Cab) and crew cab (CrewMax) styles. There is no regular cab. The sole powertrain is a 381-horsepower 5.7-liter V8 paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive and part-time 4-wheel drive are offered. Available features include forward collision warning and mitigation with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot alert, rear cross-traffic alert, power-sliding rear window, trailer-sway control, and LED headlights. It might not have as many configuration options as its domestic-brand rivals, but what Tundra does offer should be more than enough for both commercial and recreational truck buyers. This big rig demands serious consideration, even from those who have remained loyal to one of the Detroit 3.
