2015 Nissan Rogue

Pros: Fuel-economy numbers are among the best in the class; broad range of standard and available equipment; high-quality interior materials; availability of 3rd-row seat; generously sized, versatile rear cargo area

Cons: Mediocre acceleration; transmission isn’t as responsive as some class competitors; engine is noisy during acceleration; the 3rd-row seat is sized mainly for children

CG Says: After its redesign for 2014, the Nissan Rogue sees a couple minor updates for 2015: The transmission gains an efficiency-aiding Eco mode, and heated cloth seats are added to the SV Premium Package. The Nissan Rogue and Mitsubishi Outlander are the only vehicles in the compact SUV class to offer a 3rd-row seat, but not surprisingly, that seat is too small for most adults to sit in comfort. Rogue’s acceleration is also a bit sluggish, but its classy interior trimmings and outstanding cargo versatility rank among the best in its class.
