CG Says: The 2015 Volvo XC60 gets available “Drive-E” 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engines—the T5 version is turbocharged and has 240 horsepower; the T6 version is both turbocharged and supercharged and has 302 hp. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and are available only in two-wheel-drive models. In addition to the new 4-cylinder engines (and the turbo 3.0-liter six listed below), the XC60 is available with a 240-hp 3.2-liter six (early 2015 production models) or a 250-hp turbo 2.5-liter 5-cylinder (late 2015 production models). Refined and loaded to the brim with expected and innovative safety features, Volvo’s compact SUV is a good one. Its only significant flaws are an occasionally crunchy ride and somewhat steep pricing on T6 and R-Design models. On the whole, XC60’s balance of power, handling, and comfort make it worthy of serious consideration for those who desire something small yet upscale.
