Once primarily found on sporty coupes and economy cars, rear hatches can be found on an increasing number of luxury sedans, as well. Hatchback vehicles typically offer the additional utility of folding rear-seat backs, which allow for the transport of longer and more awkward cargo items than might generally be loaded into a sedan.
